Online Safety Reminder for Parents and Carers

boy in gray shirt using black laptop computer

We have been advised by NHS safeguarding partners of concerns about some social media content that may encourage self-harm, particularly affecting vulnerable children and young people.

Parents and carers are reminded to:

  • Monitor online activity and social media use
  • Talk regularly with children about what they see online
  • Report and block concerning content
  • Seek help promptly if worried about a child’s wellbeing

Trusted advice on keeping children safe online is available via NSPCC, Barnardo’s, The Children’s Commissioner, and GOV.UK.

If you are concerned about a child’s safety, please speak to a healthcare professional or local safeguarding services.
